The Fastnet Lighthouse, Co. CorkFastnet Rock, about four miles southwest of Cape Clear. Ireland's most southerly point and the last piece of home that generations of emigrants saw as they sailed west. The lighthouse has stood here since 1904, built from Cornish granite after the original cast iron tower proved inadequate against Atlantic storms.
